ISIS - International Satellites for Ionospheric Studies Program
Launched under the ISS program, on January 30, 1969, the Canadian-built ISIS I satellite soared into space on a Delta E rocket from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Alouette II, ISIS I, and ISIS II are joint Canada-U.S. endeavours.
Like Alouette II, the ISIS satellites study the ionosphere and the aurora borealis (Northern Lights).
